Brush Motor Burn-in
My experience with brush motors is basically with the Traxxas 12T Titan and the typical burn-in of hooking up a battery, setting up the ESC (Electronic Speed Control) to training mode and driving around until the battery is dead... twice. Before moving it out of training mode and being able to go full-throttle and full-speed.
I had read about burning brushed motors in but submerging them into water and then running the motor for 10 minutes while it is fully submerged in the water the entire time. Like most everyone else, it seemed very strange to me to run an electric motor in water to break it in.
Well, I tried it and with a bit of set up, it was fairly easy to try it out. I will likely add more to this article to describe what I've done to do this... but I recommend doing what I did. Do a search for videos on YouTube for brush motor burn-in and check out what other people are doing.
Let me know if you'd like me to cover more about it and I will add it to this article.
