Pro-Line Chassis Saver for the Traxxas Slash
So a friend told me about the Pro-Line Chassis Saver for the Traxxas Slash and even though I've not experienced a break at the point that the chassis saver provides better support, I have heard of that area becoming weak and the chassis having issue there. I have busted up my Slash chassis in other areas, and it's not a hugely expensive part to replace, but it's a bit of a pain, so why allow an area of weakness be a possible reason to have to replace the chassis?
I'm all about preventative maintenance. So I picked up a chassis saver and installed it. It's pretty easy, but it's a good idea to pull as much of the back-end out of the way. A couple small holes will need to be drilled. 4 bolts are supplied. I think there's supposed to be 4 nuts too, but I only received 2. I grabbed a couple nuts from my parts bin and got it all tightened up.
I have to admit... although it may be psychological, but it sure seems more stiff and secure. I really like the fact that the piece is pre-fabbed for me and provides that extra strength to keep the chassis from breaking in that weak design area.
Well done Pro-Line. Another very cool part to help keep us on the RC track and not on the repair table.
