Time Away, Time for Research

Been a while since we've posted updates to the blog.

We've been busy with the launch of the raceseason now that the weather has gotten better.

Our WebGirl program had been postponed because as the season started, we got out and crashed the cars we use for photo sessions (yeah, we know, silly to race the cars used for photo sessions, right?). We're getting the efforts for the WebGirl search relaunched and will continue getting the website populated with content (articles, videos, reviews, etc.)

We'd also like to open up opportunities for anyone who would like to share their RC racecar knowledge with the world in way of articles, etc. Compensation for content submission will be negotiated when your articles are used for the website.

Weather is better and better and time to get out and race. Look for photos of the Addicted to RC team out racing and keep checking in on the website for more updates as often as you can.

Official RC Car Bodies

Happy New Year! Here's the official 2010 Addicted to RC car bodies. Both shells are on Traxxas Slash cars and both have been painted to us here at Addicted to RC. The bodies are both by Pro-Line. One is their Desert Rat body and the other is a Baja Bug. Both were purchase from Tower Hobbies. Paint is also from Tower Hobbies. The Addicted to RC vinyl decals are by DIY Lettering. These cars are what is used fro WebGirl photography for the website and for other promotional items.

Looking for WebGirls... seriously!

It may seem to be a ploy to take photos of beautiful girls for our website. We're truly looking for girls interested in being involved in the Addicted to RC project... and not just for being featured in beautiful photos. If the following makes sense to you, please don't hesitate to contact us.

  • We have our own in-house photographer.
  • WebGirls can be involved in the project in many other ways:
    • Represent Addicted to RC at RC races and events.
    • Possibly be featured in promo photos or posters and have RC fans ask for your autograph!
    • Participate in Addicted to RC video introductions.
  • Addicted to RC is a clean and family-friendly site.

Get in touch with us and find out more. We'll have a downloadable application form for you soon to let us know you want to be an Addicted to RC WebGirl.

Addicted to RC - Official Slash Truck Body

It's in the header and it's on the about us page. Let us know what you think about how it looks now that it's done?

November, month end site update

Communicating with site progress is something we feel is helpful and just an all around nice thing to do. Since we are not only enthusiasts in the world of RC, but also website designers and developers, we can design and develop a site that we want to visit too. Launching a site that is "under construction" has it's benefits, but it also can backfire. We hope that our unofficial launch of our "beta" site is not one to backfire, but open it up to those who visit the site with an opportunity to share ideas of what is working for the site and what is still needed, etc.

We've added a brand spanking new header. We designed it to break out of the site width a bit to give the site some depth. It may change in design, but the overall style is set. We like it a lot and hope you do too. Next, we will be adding a photo of the Addicted to RC Slash truck that was just finished. It's a newly painted Pro-Line Desert Rat Slash body in purple and black and has spiffy new Addicted to RC stickers on the sides. Look for that in the header very soon! This will be the truck in photos with our new WebGirls.

Speaking of WebGirls, we've talked with a few local gals interested in adding beauty to the website. Those we've talked to are absolutely gorgeous and will add a look to the site that will counter the tires, dirt and mud! If you are or know someone who would make a great Addicted to RC WebGirl, contact us about it, we'd love to talk to you more about it.

A forum has been installed and we're working through it to make sure it's working good before launching it to the world to see and browse. We've added a couple cool Slash 4x4 videos to the videos page to test the video feature. The forum will be available to our members when the site is launched. There will be videos available for free, but many of our tutorial and review videos will be only available to our members.

Information will be added soon to cover when membership means and how you can become a member.

That's it for this, our first blog entry (ok, second, but the first one wasn't really meant to be in a blog, we just added it here to make it easier). Check back often for more updates as the progress is made.
